SIX STAR REFUGEE HISTORY

Summer-Fall 1999
Five Presbyterian Churches (Church of the New Covenant, Druid Hills, Hapeville, Rock Springs and St.Andrews) came together with the goal of sponsoring a refugee family from Kosovo. The group became aware of the need for a family, from Sierra Leone, to leave Jubilee Partners (the first stop from many new refugee families) and take their next step to resettlement. Druid Hills Baptist approached Druid Hills Presbyterian about becoming involved in refugee resettlement. Druid Hills Baptist made it known that they had a house on their property that had already been made into two apartments. The path was clear and the Six Star Refugee Partnership, Inc. was born.
